Our Story.
Flourish Birth & Family Collective was created in 2023 by me (hi, the one writing this!) — Danika Viola. I’m a mother of 2, a partner, an occupational therapist, an amputee, an advocate for women’s health, and CEO of Flourish Pelvic Health & Wellness.
As an occupational therapist, I fully understood what it would mean to have children — a shift in my identity, new roles to fill, and different routines & habits to get used to.
As a pelvic floor therapist, I knew just how important it would be to create a pregnancy, birth, & postpartum team that would help me stay healthy & feel validated.
But as a mother, I wasn’t prepared by just how hard everything would become. Getting out of the house to go to appointments, or grocery shopping, or doing a quick Target run. I was looking up provider after provider to have my baby’s tongue/lip ties fixed and find a good pelvic floor therapist for myself and oh! maybe a chiropractor for both of us while I was at it. And I hated it. I hated running around and constantly feeling overwhelmed.
While feeling like my brain was going in 35 different places at once (who am I kidding, it always does), I was inspired to create a collective space where health & wellness providers could come together, collaborate, and provide services within their specialties— but for a similar population— needed to happen. So I made it happen.
This space was created to help families.
Yes, we focus a lot on moms & babies. But there’s a reason that we didn’t call it “Flourish Mom & Baby Collective” - because we really do see everyone! We want to make sure that you know that every single person is welcome here, no matter their role in the family. From the dad who threw his back out and needs a chiropractor to the 7-year-old who needs pelvic floor therapy for chronic constipation and bedwetting to the toddler learning how to use an AAC device to the parents learning how to feed their baby — every single person is welcome & we are excited to see you here!
